The Midas Touch

  • June 16, 2011 at 11:57 am

Have you heard of the Midas Touch?  You know where everything he touches turns to GOLD.  I am suffering a similar ailment but instead mine is Poo.  That is right every crafting project I have been doing lately just ends up looking like shit :( .  I have been pushing through this, kept trying just incase it turned out well, but alas it is just not working.  Hence my lack of posting, I am just not willing to show the world the crap I have been creating :) . So I have decided that it must be time for me to down tools, have a couple weeks off from crafting and hopefully start creating some decent stuff.

K.D the Wonder Dog.

  • May 28, 2011 at 12:01 pm

With winter bitting at our heels I thought it was time to make K.D (aka Karate Dog) a new winter coat.  I found the perfect pattern at my local material shop to make him.  Because greyhounds are such skinny dogs they need to have a jacket on to help them stay warm.  So here is K.D with his jumpsuit on.

I think he looks cute, but he does not seem too impressed :) .

Ever thought about getting a greyhound as a pet?  I highly recommend them.  K.D is the most docile amd gentle creature.  He is just like a lap dog, just 10 times bigger.  K.D lives happily beside our two cats, Sox & Taffy and 3 silkie chickens Mario (has gender confusion:)), Rocky & Gingy.  Though there is a waiting list if you want a cat friendly greyhound.  Another great reason to get a greyhound as a pet is to save their lives.  Mostly in the greyhound racing industry once a greyhound is deemed ‘unviable’ they get a bullet to the head.  Such a shame to have that happen to these beautiful and loving animals.
The GAP (Greyhound Adoption Program) fosters greyhound, access the hounds suitability to live in a loving home and does some basic training.  Then match the dogs with a suitable family.  Click here for the GAP program in Victoria Australia or google for one in your state / country.

Fine Bone China

  • May 19, 2011 at 3:44 pm

Hello,
Wow what is going on, two scrapbook L.O’s in a month!  :)
I took on the challenge from Scrapbook Capital to incorporat a doily into a LO.  I have used my doily die from Die-Namics to cut doily’s with co-ordinating papers.  I am really happy with how this LO turned out.

Pull Out Journal Card Reads:
Did you know that I love Fine Bone China?  My Great Aunty Eve was a lover of beautiful elegant things.  I used to love going to her house in Beaumaris amongst the antiques and fineries.  We would always eat from fine bone china dinner plates and with sterling silver cutlery.  After we would sip tea from beautiful ornate cups & saucers.  When Uncle Col died I got some of Aunty Eve’s cup and saucer collection.  Over time I have added to this collection.  I have always been afraid to use it.  I have decided this year to throw caution to the wind and start using it.

Hope you have all had a great week.  I have been busy making some more handmade flowers.  As the weather is getting quite cold here it is nice to sink into my couch, watch T.V and make flowers (with the heater going full bore).

I love how this card I made for my bested buddy Caz came out.
